Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has challenged the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to take over Ekiti and Osun States in next year’s gubernatorial elections there.
At the moment, Oyo is the only PDP State in the South West. He told the party faithful to rise up to the task and dislodge the ruling APC there.
He said: “Those states – Osun and Ekiti – will hold elections next year and it is a must-win election for us. For me, I stand before you the newly inaugurated zonal executive committee for PDP Southwest, that I will support you. “We still have quite a bit to chew through, but I don’t have any doubt that with the quality of people that we have in this zonal exco and the quality of representation that we will be having at the national executive committee of our party, the Southwest has found its voice.”
He also added that Nigerians are tired of the ineptitude of the APC and would massively vote it out in 2023 so that peace can once more return to the troubled nation.
