EDThe governing party, the All Progressives Congress APC today had its convention to elect new officers of the party ahead of next year’s general election.
THE VENT REPUBLIC reports that this would be the third convention since the existence of the party, having elected John Oyegun and Adams Oshiomhole in the last two elective conventions.
But a very tragic event happened during the event as a supporter of the party collapsed and died during the convention on Saturday.
According to reports, the supporter was heading for Eagle Square, the venue of the convention, when he slumped and gave up the ghost.
According to an eye witness at the event, the deceased first complained of dizziness and collapsed thereafter.
It was gathered that when he slumped, many of the party’s supporters rushed to assist him, but it ended in futility as he remained motionless.
He was later covered and taken away by some persons led by some security operatives
