EDNigerian Ports Authority Managing Director, Hadiza Bala-Usman has been suspended by President Muhammadu Buhari and an administrative investigative panel of enquiry will be set up to probe the agency under her watch.
The suspension was on the recommendation of the Minister for Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.
The acting MD is Mohammed Bello-Koko, the agency’s Executive Director for Finance & Administration.
The panel is to be headed by the Director, Maritime Services of the Ministry of Transportation while the Deputy Director, Legal in the ministry will serve as Secretary to the panel.
Other members of the panel will be appointed by the minister.
She was reappointed for a fresh five year term in January this year having been first appointed in 2016.
