Richard Mofe Damijo is Sixty

Veteran Actor Richard Mofe Damijo turns 60 today, July 6.

Few people know that he started his career as a journalist and plied his trade with the Concord Newspapers before he veered off into his passion – acting. He made his acting debut with the then popular soap opera Checkmate and has featured in numerous movies as well as international co productions.

He later studied law at the University of Lagos and became the Delta State Commissioner for Arts and Culture under the administration of Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan between 2007 and 2015. He returned to acting after his stint in government and has been very active on social media where he plays the role of a mentor to the younger generation through his frequent words of advice.

He was first married to May Ellen Ezekiel, the former Publisher of Classique Magazine but she died in 1996. He is currently married to former AIT Presenter, Jumobi Adegbesan and the marriage is blessed with children. He is also a grandfather.

The Vent Republic wishes him a Happy Diamond Jubilee and many more years in wealth and good health.
