EDA cross section of Nigerians have intensified calls for the Minister for Communication and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Pantami to resign over his past radical teachings that allegedly showed him as being sympathetic to Al Qaeda and the Taliban.
Some videos of his teachings recently surfaced where he was said to have backed the two terrorist groups and it has generated heated debates on social media.
Pantami has since denied any affiliation with the two deadly terror groups. However he admitted making the controversial statements at the time and that his views on the extremist organizations have long changed.
Different hashtags on Twitter have emerged – #Pantamimustresign and a counter one -#Pantamimuststay have gained popularity on the micro blogging site.
