EDThe Lagos State Commissioner for Information & Strategy, Gbenga Omotosho has denied media reports that the Lagos State Government denied the 25 million naira that kind hearted Nigerians raised for amputee hawker, Mary Daniels.
The Nation newspaper yesterday carried a viral report that Mary Daniel was a fraudster hence the confiscation of the funds by the government.
Nigerians took to social media last night to demand that the funds be released to her.
Omotosho said the state government had no intentions of confiscating the funds that she could do as she pleased with it and set up her dream supermarket in the state since that was where fortune smiled on her. They only tried to protect her from being harassed by unscrupulous elements who wanted to take advantage of her vulnerability.
