Cristiano Ronaldo has added another historic achievement to his illustrious career, becoming both Portugal’s youngest and oldest goalscorer in FIFA World Cup history.
Ronaldo scored his first World Cup goal at the 2006 tournament at the age of 21, making him Portugal’s youngest scorer at the competition. Twenty years later, the 41-year-old found the net again at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, setting a new national record as the country’s oldest World Cup goalscorer.
The Portuguese captain now joins an exclusive list of players to hold both the youngest and oldest World Cup scoring records for their respective nations. The only other football legends to achieve the feat are Michael Laudrup for Denmark and Lionel Messi for Argentina.
Ronaldo’s latest milestone is yet another testament to his remarkable consistency, longevity, and enduring impact on the global game, further strengthening his legacy as one of football’s greatest players.
