Chad to conduct elections eighteen months after President’s demise – Military

The army of Chad has dissolved both the government and parliament hours after the death of its Late President Idris Derby who was killed while fighting insurgents in the Sahel. It has promised elections after an eighteen months transition period.

Dey was newly re-elected after being in power for over three decades. General Agem Azuona, the army spokesman said: “has just breathed his last defending the sovereign nation on the battlefield.”
