Yemi Osinbajo: 7 Major Takeaways From His Presidential Declaration

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo has officially joined the 2023 presidential contest, THE VENT REPUBLIC can authoritatively confirm.

After months of intense speculations, Osinbajo in a short broadcast on his official Twitter handle made the declaration.

The Nigeria’s Vice-President who has been perceived to be foot-dragging on his ambition as many felt he won’t want to be on a collision course with his alleged godfather, Bola Tinubu, has decided to dare all odds and throw his hat into the ring.

The former Lagos State Attorney General promised to build on the successes of the Muhammadu Buhari led government to put smiles on the faces of the people.

1: He noted starting from the 4th paragraph his functions and roles as Nigeria’s  Vice President for seven years and the experience garnered in the course of performing his duties, which he said is a motivation.

2: He made it clear from his speech that in him lies the hope of a greater nation, having being availed of the situations of the populace, their fears and hopes, as he has met with Nigerians in different societal strata.

3: Osinbajo said transforming the country’s security and intelligence architecture will be first on his agenda.

4: He promises to reform the judicial  system which he is part of, while rapidly advancing infrastructure development, especially power, roads, railways and broadband connectivity.

5: Reform the educational system and ensure local government autonomy.

6: Top of his agenda will be creation of jobs for youths while uniting Nigerians

7: He will be contesting under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC)
