EDTragedy struck at the Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, Benue State as a 20-year-old student of the tertiary institution, Ogbona Shedrach committed suicide.
THE VENT REPUBLIC reports that Shadrach, a 200-level student in the department of Biochemistry took his life after strings of financial challenges with the last straw breaking the camel’s back was his inability to get a sum of 50 thousand from his father as requested.
A family source said his parents are no longer together as they are divorced, with the marriage status of his parents contributing to his many life challenges.
The source further revealed Shedrach had requested a sum of 50,000 from his father to enable him to settle his pressing needs, but his request was declined by his father, culminating in his anger and subsequent depression.
He thereafter committed suicide by hanging himself with a rope
