Nigeria is better off together – Tinubu

Bola Tinubu

The APC National Leader has berated those calling for secession of the country. He opined that the nation is better off together despite the numerous challenges.

He made this assertion known on May 2 at a special Ramadan ‘Tafsir’ lecture held at the State House Marina.

He said:  “For clamouring for war, God will not allow Nigeria to experience it. If we say Nigeria should separate, people should remember what war caused in Sudan and Iraq. Such war does not end in time. We are yet to recover from the civil war.

“We are better together. I have nowhere I am going. Whoever has experienced war in the past will not pray for such. Nigeria will not separate; it’s not acceptable to us. Our prayer is for prosperity and more wealth for the country.”

He also condemned the spate of attacks by bandits that go on in the country and he added:”Like all decent Nigerians, I am angered and troubled by the terror and cruelty being visited upon the people of Borno, Yobe, Benue, Niger, Imo and other parts of the nation.

These attacks have caused many to disparage our military and security forces. This we must not do. Valiant men and women serve in our security forces, risking their lives to protect us.

We stand with them. Government also must continue to encourage the security forces to do their utmost to subdue this threat. The lives of innocent Nigerians and the future progress of the nation may lie in the balance”.
