Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, has said political scheming ahead of the 2022 gubernatorial election would not distract him from delivering the dividends of democracy on his current mandate.

The former Chief of Staff under Aregbesola, who spoke through his Special Adviser on Civic Engagement, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, said this during a rural engagement meeting organised by the Civic Engagement Office which was held for communities in Obokun East Local Council Development Authority.

The governor was quoted as saying since he assumed office, he has made service delivery a major focus of his administration.

He expressed confidence that God’s will, through the popular support of the people, would eventually return him to office come 2022.

Oyetola was quoted as saying: “We will never be distracted by political machinations, but we will keep focusing on quality service delivery to the people.

“We will not spare any effort in advancing the pace of good governance which this administration has instituted for the masses.

“Osun people remain solidly behind us. Through the will of God, and the popular support of our people, we will return to office in the next poll.”

Oyetola is up for re-election in 2022 with the controversial Senator Ademola Adeleke telling him to prepare his handover notes.
