All Progressives Congress has cleared Siminalayi Fubara and 29 other sitting governors of the party to participate in its governorship primaries ahead of the 2027 general elections.According to party sources who spoke with Vanguard, Governor Fubara successfully passed the APC screening exercise alongside other prominent party figures, including Hope Uzodimma and former Oyo State Secretary to the Government, Sarafadeen Alli.
Sources within the party revealed that a total of 30 APC governors were cleared as aspirants for the upcoming governorship primaries as the ruling party intensifies preparations for the 2027 elections.The development comes amid reports that a large number of petitions submitted against some aspirants is delaying the final release of the comprehensive screening report. Despite the situation, the APC had earlier indicated plans to publish the official list of cleared aspirants on Tuesday, May 13, in compliance with timelines set by Independent National Electoral Commission.
Reports also show that the APC screened no fewer than 2,980 aspirants seeking various elective positions across the country.
