Pilgrims from Ogun State currently participating in the 2026 Hajj exercise in Saudi Arabia have visited several historic Islamic sites as part of their spiritual activities in the holy land.As part of the Zyarah tour, the pilgrims visited Masjid Quba, widely regarded as the first mosque established by Prophet Muhammad.Speaking during the visit, Islamic guide Imam Buhari Inakoju highlighted the spiritual significance of the mosque and explained key historical events associated with the lifetime of Prophet Muhammad.
The pilgrims also toured notable historical locations referenced in the Holy Qur’an, where they received teachings on the history and importance of the sites to the Islamic faith.During the excursion, the group visited one of the ancient local markets known for fruit trading in the early days of Islam. Many of the pilgrims engaged with local traders and explored the market while appreciating its cultural and historical value.Some of the pilgrims expressed excitement over the opportunity to witness the historical landmarks firsthand, describing the experience as both spiritually enriching and educational.The Zyarah exercise forms part of activities aimed at deepening the pilgrims’ understanding of Islamic history while performing the Hajj rites in Saudi Arabia
