Fast rising African utility musician, Laycon has set the Nigerian music niche on fire with the release of his first ever studio album, ‘Shall We Begin’.
Laycon who can both rap, freestyle and sing is a man of many parts; from waxing philosophically in his music imprints to going sassy and konky in some has taken the African music industry by storm since his public revelation last year. The musical versatility of Laycon came into the fore with the release of ‘Shall We Begin’ coined SWB that featured established stars like Maryorkun, Teni the Entertainer, Joeboy among others.
The 12-track album features different genres like hardcore rap, Trap music, RnB, and has amassed over 7 million streams on Audiomack.
“Laycon’s new album, “Shall we begin” makes me happy,” in the words of the founder of Afrobeats Intelligence and music journalist, Joey Akan.
“The focus and presence of mind for him to stretch himself through the celebrity, to anchor it all on sustainable art, impresses (sic) me. The right way to wield fame is to use it as fuel for productivity.” He added.
