Catholic Church suspends Fr. Mbaka over feud with Buhari

Ejike Mbaka

The Catholic Church has suspended Fr. Ejike Mbaka for one month over his feud with President Muhammadu Buhari and some top government functionaries which is said to have greatly embarrassed the Church.

Mbaka was asked to proceed on the suspension with effect from May 3 after a meeting with the Enugu Diocese Bishop, Callistus Onaga.

The controversial cleric had called for Buhari to either resign or get impeached over the rising insecurity in the land and then Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media & Publicity responded that he was angry at not being giving contracts for initially supporting the Buhari administration.

Sources say he returned to his Adoration Ground Ministry where he was said to have incited his followers against the Bishop and then news later filtered that he was abducted by His Grace and handed over to the Department for State Security (DSS).

This made the youths attack the residence of the Bishop yesterday vandalizing it in the process.
