The Governor of Kaduna State has revealed that Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari is hesitant to pull the plug on his appointees because he is a nice guy and that hasn’t made him achieve much.

THE VENT REPUBLIC reports that El-Rufai in a webinar organized by the Africa Leadership Group tagged: ‘Developing a Viable Nation 2’ and hosted by Pastor of Trinity House Church Ituah Ighodalo made the assertion.

He claimed the President’s style is in contrast to his and that can be a reason for his slower execution rate.

In his words:

“I fire people so I get higher execution rates. President Buhari is a nice guy, he doesn’t fire people so he has a slower execution rate.”

El Rufai also justified his advice to then-President Goodluck Jonathan to negotiate with the Boko Haram insurgents, which is now at variance with his current stance of not negotiating with bandits.

According to El-Rufai, he only gave that advice because that was the first time such abduction would take place and also because Boko Haram is driven by an ideology and not by money in the case of today’s bandits.
