Charles Omole, author of the book From Soldier to Statesman: The Legacy of Muhammadu Buhari, has alleged that no fewer than five powerful cabals are influencing the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.Speaking during an interview on State Affairs, a podcast hosted by Edmund Obilo, Omole claimed that different groups within the presidency currently wield significant influence over government decisions and access to the president.According to him, the first cabal is allegedly led by the President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila. He further claimed that the second group revolves around the President’s son, Seyi Tinubu, whom he accused of influencing certain political appointments, including that of the Minister of Youth Development.
Omole also alleged that the third cabal is linked to the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, whom he said maintains her own sphere of influence within the presidency.Describing the fourth cabal, the author pointed to a circle of young associates and loyalists around the president, while he identified the fifth cabal as the one directly headed by President Tinubu himself.“There are five cabals controlling President Tinubu’s administration,” Omole said during the interview, as he detailed the alleged influence of the various groups surrounding the Nigerian leader.
The remarks have since sparked conversations online, with many Nigerians reacting to the claims and debating the level of influence different individuals may have within the current administration.
